- Could someone please help me on this subject. From what I've read, I can
- connect a VGA monitor to an A1200 and possibly use some of the legal
- screenmodes i.e. no games or screens bypassing Workbench, by installing
- the correct monitor drivers.
- VGA uses horizontal rate of 31.5 kHz
- Normal amiga uses about 15 kHz - so can't use this
- Productivity screen uses 31.5 kHz - so can always use this? if software
- supports this mode or runs on Workbench
- DblPal or DblinterlacePal (or NTSC) is 27 kHz - so can I use this, or
- does it depend on the VGA monitor? Does the monitor have to sync down
- to this (very few do, from what I have seen of adverts)? Does VGA only
- always solve this (says manual), or under which circumstances?
- Mode promotion doubles custom screen modes to 27kHz (through OS) - so as
- above?
- And do you kill/damage the monitor/Amiga if you send an unacceptable
- screen mode?
-
- Is the above true, and can anyone answer my questions?
-
- Thanks
